Does my child have to send in a CD for acceptance? 

Sending an audition tape will only help chair placement and scholarship decision-making. It is not required.

How many letters of recommendation are needed?

Only 1 (one) L.O.R. is necessary, preferably by either the private studio teacher or primary ensemble conductor.

Is there fun or only just music?

HCSMF prides itself on balancing work with fun.

What is the counselor to student ratio?

Hartwick College maintains a strict policy of

1 counselor for a maximum of 10 campers/guests.

 

Is there a concert that we can see at the end?

YES! Each Saturday (July 17 and 24)

Campers' hard work in both chamber and large ensembles will be showcased in afternoon concerts.

Are we allowed to see the concerts during the week?

All of our performances are open to the public!

Can my children room together?

As our campers and counselors are seperated by gender for housing, only campers of similar gener are allowed to bunk.

Is there medical facilities nearby?

Hartwick College houses a nurse and medical facility.  Campers' tuition includes insurance that covers basic needs. Fox hospital is 5 blocks from campus, as well.

How many of each instrument are allowed?

There is no minimum number of ANY instrument family.

Hartwick's doors are open to all!
